Winter Clearance of Warmth & Dryness

December 27th, 2011

Jesse Brown’s has been outfitting for adventure for 41+ years and as people decompress from gift giving, receiving & overall shopping we’d like to remind of our outfitting basics.  Keeping you comfortable in your outdoor endeavors.
After Christmas is a great time for that with Sales.  Currently we are having a Winter Clearance Sale on Warmth and Dryness.  That’s a focus on Coats & Jackets, Fleece and Sweaters.
Come on by either location and enjoy some savings; while being prudent in knowing you’ve got items with which you can build a long relationship.

Christmas Kick Off at Jesse Brown’s Outdoors

November 26th, 2011

Jesse Brown’s Outdoors has been outfitting people for adventure, excursion & activity for 41+ years.  During that time the way that shoppers celebrate Christmas has changed.  When Jesse first began the store Christmas was a huge shopping time of the year.  Gifts for outdoorspeople have always been in fashion.

Yaktrax, Smartwool, pocket discs and Handwarmers all at Jesse Brown's

Now with the emergence of the mega big box stores and marketing blitzes that barely let the consumer breath before being driven to the next e-commerce sight or mall it is time to get back to our outdoor roots.
Jesse Brown’s is an outfitter.  Whatever you like to do, want to do or dream to do outdoors we want to help.

Don’t let your Christmas shopping end indoors.  Let it start there….then get out.

Hey Mr. Bartee, Wow, What an adventure! I can’t thank you and Jesse Browns enough for outfitting me. All the gear did awesome. It exceeded my expectations and helped me stay warm, cool, safe. and dry the entire trip. I have included some pictures of the trip above. A lot of the peak pictures I have a helmet on ( Outward Bound rules) but I wore the hat everyday. It got faded and looks like a professional mountaineer’s hat.

Hope all is well with you and your family and I look forward to hearing from  you soon.

Thanks again,
Robert W. Norris II

Where the Queen Met Phillip (& then some)

May 26th, 2011

A few weeks ago (& last year, too); the jesse brown blog introduced the travel of two sisters that were knocking around Wales and Ireland.

Well, 2011 brings the travelling pair back to Europe with Travels around England.  Check out these smartphone blurbs and photos from Windy & Peggy (or is it Peggy & Windy)…………………

-This Bayard quay had two ships of Calvinist leave from Dartmouth.  Both were named for wildflowers we saw on our hike.  The Speedwell had to turn back due to leaks. Sophie Newbury.  had ancestors on the Mayflower which arrived after 66 days at sea with 100 people.

Today was a great hike. I like my new buff. Every one is asking me about it (GET IT AT JESSE BROWN’S)
It was cold hiking yesterday and today with high winds. The buff felt great on my head. I want to buy one for karen, our leader.

-It was hard hike today but beautiful along the cliffs on the east toward France . We stopped in on the National Coastwatch station. They are all volunteeers like Clover Firemen. This Dartmouth is where D Day trained and Armada and the Mayflower.  Queen E met Prince Phillip here when she was 13 and he was a cadet at the Naval Academy.
